Preparation

Please follow these instructions before sending your quilt to Rusty Thimble

Please call or e-mail before sending your quilt. We will schedule your quilting at the earliest available time. This prevents having your quilt sitting in the "waiting room" in our shop.
Your quilt top and backing should be clean and pressed.
All seams should be trimmed and pressed flat
Trim and remove all loose threads.
If necessary, indicate the "TOP" of your quilt and the direction of any pattern.
If you are supplying either the backing, batting or both they must be at least 6" larger than the quilt top in both width and height. It is very important that the top, backing and batting are square.
If you are requesting binding or a hanging pocket be put on your quilt, please make sure that the fabric is included. If you are uncertain as to the amount needed we can help you.
Fold and place the top and backing in their own pillowcase or bag. Pack them with the backing (if you are providing it) and any instructions in a suitable shipping container. Insure your quilt before shipping. We will insure your finished quilt for its return trip.
